AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 26-48.1(2) OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA PERTAINING TO YARD
SALE AND OPEN HOUSE SIGNS
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that Section 26-48.1(2) of the Code of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, be and hereby is deleted and replaced in
its entirety with the following:
"(2) Non-illuminated "yard sale" and "open house" signs not
exceeding two (2) square feet in area. Such signs shall be
posted no more than twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the
event; shall be posted for a period not to exceed three (3)
consecutive days; shall be removed by 9:00 p.m. of the final
day of the event; and shall not be located within any public
right-of-way. Each such sign placed off-site shall require
the permission of the owner of the property on which the
placement of said sign is sought.',
This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its
adoption.
