~N ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 12-26 (a) AND
(g), ~qTICLE II, CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA PERTAINING TO
THE RATE FOR LICENSE TAXES FOR REPAIR,
PERSONAL, BUSINESS AND OTHER SERVICES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that Section 12-26 (a) and (g) Article II, Chapter 12
of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia are hereby amended
in their entirety as follows:
Sec. 12-26. Repair, personal, business and other services.
(a) Generally. Every person engaged in a repair,
personal or business service or any other business or
occupation not specifically listed or excepted from ~%~e~-5~-
~6~.-~ license taxation according to the provisions of the Code
of Virginia, as amended, shall pay for the privilege an annual
license tax the greater of thirty dollars ($30.00) or
65~ twenty-seven cents ($0.27) per one hundred dollars
($100.00) of gross receipts based upon the gross receipts from
such se~-~ices in the next preceding calendar year. However,
such tax shall be exactly thirty dollars ($30.00) for
transportation services including bus and taxi services.
(g) Photographers who have no place of business in the
state m&y shall be subject to city license taxation so long as
the tax is not in excess of ~-~&~-~m~se~-ph~t~&~-~y
~he-~%&~e-thirty dollars ($30.00) .
This ordinance shall become effective December 31, 1989.
