19890627 1989-30ORDINANCE NO. 1989- 30 AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTIONS 14-29 AND 14-30 OF CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, REGARDING MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Sections 14-29 and 14-30, Chapter 14 be added to the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, which should read in its entirety as follows: Sec. 14-29. Failure to Appear (a) Any person, who having been released from custody after being admitted to bail, after being released upon terms of recognizance or after being released on a summons, willfully fails to appear before any court or judicial officer as required, shall, after notice to all interested parties, incur a forfeiture of any security which may have been given or pledged for such release, unless one of the parties can show good cause for excusing the absence, or unless the court, in its sound discretion, shall determine that neither the interests of justice nor the power of the court to conduct orderly proceed- ings will be serviced by such forfeiture. (b) Any person charged with a misdemeanor offense who willfully fails to appear before any court as required shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. Sec. 14-30. Unlawful Chanqe of Name. If any person residing in this City changes his name or assumes another name, unlawfully, he shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor.
