AN ORDINANCE ADDING A NEW SECTION 13-26.1 TO
ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, CONCERNING PROHIBITING PLACARDED
TRUCKS FROM CERTAIN PORTIONS OF MAIN STREET.
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia that a new section, Section 13-26.1 of
Article I of Chapter 13 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, is hereby adopted to read in its entirety as
follows:
Section 13-26.1 Placarded Motor Trucks Prohibited on
Certain Portions of Main Street.
All trucks placarded or required to be placarded
according to the regulations set forth in 49 CFR Section
172.500 et seq., are prohibited on Route 236 (Main Street
and North Street) from Lee Highway (Route 29) to Pickett
Road. This prohibition shall not apply to trucks placarded
or required to be placarded that are receiving loads or
making deliveries on Route 236 (Main Street and North
Street) or streets accessible only from Route 236 (Main
Street and North Street).
Any owner or operator of a truck in violation of this
section shall be guilty of a class 4 misdemeanor.
This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon
execution by the Mayor.
