AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 18-3 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA TO FURTHER DEFINE THE PROHIB-
ITED LANGUAGE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that Section 18-3 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia be and herby is amended to read in its entirety as
follows:
"Section 18-3. Cursing or Abusing Officers.
It shall be unlawful for any person to curse or
use abusive language toward a police officer, while the
officer is performing his duties, which has a direct
tendency to cause an act of violence by such officer.
Any person violating the provisions of this section
shall be guilty of a class 3 misdemeanor."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
execution by the Mayor.
