AN ORDINANCE AMENDING FAIRFAX CITY CODE SECTION 2-56.1
SUBSECTIONS (a) AND (b) PERTAINING TO CADET VOLUNTEER
FIREFIGHTER PROGRAM.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Tirginia, that subsections (a) and (b) of Section 2-56.1 of the
of the City of Fairfax be and hereby are amended as follows:
1. Subsection (a) shall read in its entirety as follows:
"(a) Any minor over the age of seventeen, or any
minor over the age of sixteen who is enrolled and
maintains a passing grade in the Fairfax County Cadet
Program, who is certified as eligible by the chief of
the department of fire and rescue services under the
provisions of this section may work with and
participate in the activities of the Fairfax Volunteer
Fire Department, Inc.
2. Subsection (b) is amended by removing the words "over
~he age of seventeen (17)" from the first sentence of the
subsection.
The remaining provisions of Section 2-56.1 shall remain in
force unchanged by this Ordinance.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
tion by the Mayor.
