AN ORDINANCE AMENDING FAIRFAX CITY CODE SECTION 26-4 PERTAINING TO THE
DEFINITION OF FLOOR AREA RATIO
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that the
Fairfax City Code Section 26-4 pertaining to the definition of floor area
ratio be amended to read in its entirety as follows:
"Floor area ratio: The number resulting from dividing the gross floor
area of all buildings on a lot by the lot area. For the purpose of this
definition, "lot area" shall be the horizontal area included within the lot
lines, including area to be dedicated at no cost to the City or the Common-
wealth of Virginia for public right-of-way; provided, however, that "lot
area" shall not include half the area within thy lot lines delineated as
floodplain."
This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
