AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17-10(i)
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that
Subsection 17-10(i)(1) of the third paragraph of Section 17-10(i) of the Code of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia, be amended to read as follows:
Subsection 17-10(i)(1):
"(1) Conventional Health Insurance
Employee: 85 percent.
Employee/one child: 75 percent.
Employee and spouse: 65 percent.
Family: 55 percent, and, after July 1, 198t,, 65 percent."
Third Paragraph:
"Full-time career employees must participate in the Virginia Supplemental
Retirement Plan, the City retirement plans as set forth in Section 17-16 and
Section 17-16.1, and social security. Employees will participate as follows with
the city funding its share as adopted annually in the budget.
1. City retirement Plans. Employees participating in either the Retirement
Plan for General Employees or the Retirement Plan for Public Safety Employees
will make contributions to the plan in which they participate in accordance with
the provisions of the Plans which are incorporated by reference in Sections 17-16
and 17-16.1.
2. Virginia supplemental retirement system - all Employees will participate,
and the City will make contributions for Employees as established by law.
3. Social Security - all employees and the City will contribute the percent-
age as established by law."
This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its being signed by the
Mayor.
