AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-35 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
PERTAINING TO THE TRANSPORATION SAFETY
COMMISSION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 2-35 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia be and hereby is amended as follows:
The second sentence of Section 2-35 is amended to read as
follows: "The transporation safety commission shall be composed
as follows: Five (5) members from the general public, one member
of the city council, one member of the city police department,
one member of the department of fire and rescue services, one
member designated by the school board, one member of the city
public works department, and one member designated by the Fairfax
City Chamber of Commerce who shall be a professional or technical
member."
A new sentence is hereby added to Section 2-35 which will
follow the sentence amended above and will read as follows: "The
members from city council and the school board will serve ex
officio, have no voting rights, hold no office on the commission,
and will not be counted to establish a quorum."
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
execution by the Mayor.
