AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-38 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA
PERTAINING TO THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE
COMMITTEE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 2-38 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia be and hereby is amended as follows:
The first sentence of paragraph (b) of Section 2-38 is
amended to read as follows: "One member shall be appointed from
among the membership of the board of architectural review, one
member from the city council, one member from the membership of
the planning commission and one member each shall be appointed
from lists of nominees submitted by:
(a) the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce;
(b) a local garden club; and
(c) the student government of Fairfax High School."
A new sentence is hereby added to Section 2-38 which will
follow the sentence amended above and will read as follows: "The
members from city council, the board of architectural review and
planning commission will serve ex officio, hold no office on the
committee, have no voting rights and will not be counted to
establish a quorum."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
execution by the Mayor.
