AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-27(C) OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF FARIFAX, VIRGINIA, PERTAINING TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 2-27(c) of the Code of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, be and hereby is amended to read
in its entirety as follows:
"Members serving on the Planning Commission shall
serve for terms of four years, except the member from
city council, appointed under subsection (b), whose
term shall be co-extensive with the term of his
elected office. The terms of members shall be staggered
so that, in the first year of a four-year period,
one member's term will expire, and, in each of the
other three years, the terms of two other members will
expire. In order to implement the staggering of
terms as described herein, appointments may be made
for terms of less than four years."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
approval by City Council.
