AN ORDINANCE AMENDIIqG SECTION 13-28 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia
that Section 13-28 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia be amended
as follows:
(1) Section 13-28 is amended by adding the definition of the term
"sidewalk" to be inserted in alphabetical sequence to read as follows:
"Sidewalk. Any walkway, pathway, pedestrian way, footpath or other
area along the side of a street especially intended for pedestrian
use, including all areas between the curbing or street line and the
lot line whether paved or unpaved."
(2) Section 13-28 is amended by amending the definition of "park or
parking" to read as follows:
'~ark or Parking. The standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or
not, other th~un temporarily for the purpose of, and while actually
engaged in, receiving or discharging passengers or loading or un-
loading merchandise or in obedience to traffic regulations, signs
or signals or an involuntary stopping of the vehicle by reason of
causes beyond the control of the operator of the vehicle."
This ordinance shall beccme effective immediately upon its execution by
the Mayor.
