AN ORDINANCE TO ZONE THE LAND AREA INCORPORATED INTO
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX ON JANUARY 1, 1981. (Application
Nos. Z-645-80-1, Z-646-80-1, Z-647-80-1, and Z-648-80-1)
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia, has filed with
this Council a written application to have the following land
area placed in a City zoning classification based on its incor-
poration from the County of Fairfax on January 1, 1981:
10.003 acres of land occupied by the Westmore
Elementary School on premises known as 11000 Berry
Street and more particularly described on Tax
Map 57-1-((1).)-9 (Application No. Z-645-80-1, to
zone to R-3 (Residential) district.)
16.165 acres of land on premises known as 3616 Jerman-
town Road occupied by the Jermantown Elementary
School and described on Tax Map 47-3-((4))-40;
2.014 acres of land in the Jermantown Village
Subdivision on premises known as 10918 Marilta
Court, further described on Tax Map 47-3((8))-39A;
and 10917 Marilta Court, further described on
Tax Map 47-3((8))-39B and 10A (Application
No. Z-646-80-1, to zone to R-2 (Residential) district.)
10.754 acres of land occupied by the Green Acres
Elementary School on premises known as 4401 Sideburn
Road and more particularly described on Tax
Map 47-4-((1))-8 (Application No. Z-647-80-1, to
zone to R-3 (Residential) district.)
134.620 acres of land in and adjacent to the Mosby
Woods Subdivision described on Tax Maps 47-4 and
48-3 (Application No. Z-648-80-1, to zone to R-3
(Residential) district.)
WHEREAS, the land area incorporated is specifically des-
cribed by metes and bounds in the attached metes and bounds
description prepared by a certified land surveyor, and
WHEREAS, the application for the zoning of the incorporated
land was promptly referred to the Planning Commission of this
City for its investigation and recommendation thereon and was
duly advertised for public hearing before the Planning Commission
in the manner and for the time required by the Zoning Ordinance
of this City and was heard by the Planning Commission in public
hearing on January 12, 1981, and was duly advertised for public
hearing before the City Council, and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission voted unanimously to
recommend the requested zoning classification on January 12,
1981, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, on January 20, 1981, voted
unanimously, subsequent to public hearing, to accept the
recommendations of the Planning Commission;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the application for
the granting of City zoning classifications for the incorporated
land be and hereby is granted as requested and the Zoning
Administrator hereby is.directed to correct the Zoning Map
adopted as a part of the Zoning Ordinance to properly show such
zoning of said land, and the Clerk of this Council
is hereby directed to transmit duly certified copies of this
ordinance to the Zoning Administrator and the Planning Commission.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its
passage by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia.
