19810915 1981-14 ORDINANCE NO. 1981-14 AN ORDInaNCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO ADD A NEW DEFINITION FOR "OFFICE." BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council for the City of Fairfax, Virginia that Section 26-4 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be and is hereby amended to add a new definition for "Office" in the proper alphabetical sequence as follows: Section 26-4 is amended to add the term "Office" to read as follows: "Office. Any room, studio, clinic, suite or building wherein the primary use is the conduct of a business such as accounting, correspondence, research, editing, administration or analysis; or the conduct of a business by salesmen, sales representatives, or manufacturers' representatives; or the conduct of a business by professionals such as engineers, architects, land surveyors, artists, musicians, lawyers, accountants, real estate brokers, insurance agents, dentists or physicians, urban planners and landscape architects. For the purpose of this Chapter, an office shall not involve manufacturing, fabrication, production, processing, assembling, cleaning, testing, repair or storage of materials, goods and products; or the sale and/or delivery of any materials, goods or products which are physically located on the premises." This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
