19811027 1981-24Ordinance No. 19 81- 2 4 AN ORD/NANCE AMEND/NG SECTIONS 24-1 and 24-2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Sections 24-1 and 24-2 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be and the saune are hereby amended in their entirety as follows: "Sec. 24-1 Definitions. For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section: Cor~nercial consumer. Any water consumer not a residential consumer. Residential consumer. Any water consumer using water on property devoted exclusively to use as a cooperative, condominium or single family residence. Cooperative residences are those in which each resident has an interest in the entity owning the entire property and, by virtue of such interest, a right to occupy one or more of the dwelling units on the property. Condcminium residences are those in which each dwelling unit owner owns such unit in fee simple and retains an undivided interest in the conmon areas. Permissible hcme occupations shall not convert a residential consumer to a cccmercial consumer. Sec. 24-2. Water service and sewer service--Sevice rates. (a) The rates for water service furnished by the city shall be as follows: (1) Residential consumers: Four dollars and sixty-eight cents for the first five thousand gallons or less per quarter and eighty-eight cents per thousand gallons for all water in excess of five thousand gallons. (2) Conlnercial consumers: Five dollars and fifty cents for the first five thousand gallons or less per month and cents per thousand gallons for all water in excess of five thousand gallons. (b) The rates for sewer service furnished by the city shall be as 1981-24 follows: (1) (2) Residential consumers: Two hundred and forty percent of the computed water service rate. Con~nercial consumers: Two hundred and forty percent of the computed water service rate; provided, however, that apartmen buildings will be billed at a minimum sewer rate of eight dollars and ninety-eight cents per dwelling unit per month."
