AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION 17-15(b) OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA RELATING TO THE
ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS AND GRATUITIES BY CITY EMPLOYEES
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia that
Chapter 17 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virgnia is hereby amended to read
in the following manner:
1. A new subsection 17-15(b) is hereby enacted to read in its entirety as
follows:
"(b) Gifts and gratuities. An employee shall not accept gifts,
gratuities, or loans from organizations, business concerns or individuals
with whom he has official relationships on business of the City
government. These limitations are not intended to prohibit the
acceptance of articles of negligible value which are distributed
generally, nor to prohibit employees from obtaining loans from regular
lending institutions. Any employee violating the provisions of this
subsection shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor."
