AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 26
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX,
VIRGINIA, PROVIDING FOR ZONING REGULATION
OF AMUSEMENT ARCADES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia that Chapter 26 of the Code of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia be and the same is amended in the follow-
ing manner:
1. Section 26-4 of Article I of said Chapter be and
it is hereby amended to include the following in alphabetical
sequence:
"Amusement arcade. An establishment in
which one or more amusement machine(s)
are available for the amusement of the
general public.
Amusement machine. Any mechanical,
electronic and/or coin-operated game
and/or device for the amusement of the
general public. This definition shall
not be construed to include coin-operated
music players commonly referred to as
jukeboxes or coin-operated vending
machines that merely dispense cigarettes,
candy, gum, toys or like products."
2. Section 26-171 of Article XIII of said Chapter be
and it is hereby amended by the addition of the following
Subsection (q):

"(q) Amusement arcades."
3. Section 26-176 of Article XIV of said Chapter be
and it is hereby amended by the addition of the following
Subsection (r):
"( r ) Amusement arcades."
4. Section 26-188 of Article ×VI of said Chapter be
and it is hereby amended by the addition of the following
Subsection (m):
"(m) Amusement arcades."
This Ordinance shall become effective:upon adoption.
