AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING
PARAGRAPH (1) OF SUBSECTION (a) OF
SECTION 24-.2 OF CHAPTER 24 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO
REDUCE THE MINIMUM CHARGE FOR WATER
SERVICE FURNISHED BY THE CITY TO
RESIDENTIAL CONSUMERS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, that Paragraph (1) of Subsection (a) of
Section 24-.2 of Chapter 24 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, which prescribes the rates for water service furnished
by the city to residential consumers, be and hereby is amended and
reenacted to read in its entirety as follows:
"(1) Residential consumers: Four dollars and
sixty-eight cents for the first five thousand
gallons or less per quarter and eighty-eight
cents per thousand gallons for all water in
excess of five thousand gallons."
This ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1980.
