AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF
THE CITY OF FAIRFAX TO ADD A NEW SECTION,
TO BE NUMBERED 8-3.1, PROVIDING FOR
THE ASSESSMENT OF CHARGES FOR RETURNED CHECKS
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Article I of
Chapter 8 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be
and it hereby is amended to add a new section, to be number-
ed 8-3.1 and to read in its entirety as follows:
"Sec. 8-3.1 Additional charge for returned check.
A fee of ten dollars shall be charged for the
uttering, publishing or passing of any check or
draft for payment of taxes or any other sums due
which is subsequently returned for insufficient funds
or because there is no account or the account has been
closed."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its adoption by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia.
