19801014 1980-17ORDINANCE NO. 1980-17 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CENTRAL ABSENTEE VOTER ELECTION DISTRICT IN THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA. Sec. 6-2. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia that a Central Absentee Voter Election District is hereby established by the enactment herein of Sections 6-2 through 6-6, inclusive, to read in their entirety as follows: "ARTICLE II CENTRAL ABSENTEE VOTER ELECTION DISTRICT Central Absentee Voter Election District Established; Purpose. A Central Absentee Voter Election District is hereby established, which shall receive, count and record all absentee ballots properly cast within the City of Fairfax, Virginia in any national, state or local election or bond referendum. Sec. 6-3. Location. The Central Absentee Voter Election District shall be locate( in Room 306A, Fairfax City Hall, 10455 Armstrong Street, Fairfax, Virginia, 22030. Sec. 6-4. Officials. The Central Absentee Voter Election District shall have not less than three (3) election officials. The Electoral Board shall determine the number of election officials. Sec. 6-5. Procedure. The Central Absentee Voter Election District shall process all ballots and applications for absentee ballots in accor- dance with procedures set forth in Section 24.1-233.1 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, and federal and state law governing the receipt, count or recordation of absentee ballots. Sec. 6-6. Security. The security of all voted and unvoted ballots under the control of the Central Absentee Voter Election District shall 1980-17 --2-- be the responsibility of the Secretary to the Electoral Board and he or she shall account for all such voted or unvoted ballots."
