19790410 1979-7ORDINANCE NO, 1979-7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 13.08(e) and 18.06(d) OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO ADD AN EXPIRATION DATE TO CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL GRANTED BY THE BOARD OF ARCHITECTUi:b~L REVIEW. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Sections 13.O8(e) and 18.06(d) of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be and they hereby are amended to add an expiration date to Certificates of Approval granted by the Board of Architectural Review as follows: Amend Sections 13.08(e) and 18.O6(d) to add the following new language as the ending for each of these sections: "A certificate shall become null and void if no significant work is done or development is made in accordance with the application as approved within twelve months from the date of approval. On written request from an applicant, the Board may grant a single extension of its approval for a period of up to one year if, based upon submissions from the applicant, the Board finds that conditions on the site and in the area of the proposed project are essentially the same as when approval originally was granted." This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia. Adopted: April 10, 1979 Mayor ATTEST: City Clerk
