AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ~-14 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA TO
ADD A NEW SECTION 8-14(a)23.1
BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Fairfax, Virginia,
that Section 8-14, Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be
and is hereby amended to add a new Section 8-14(a)23.1 to read
in its entirety as follows:
"23.1) F-2907.1.2 Operation of tank vehicles:
Delete and substitute the following:
Tank vehicles shall be used and
operated as specified in NFiPA 385,
listed in Appendix B, and as follows.
1. Parking: Tank vehicles shall
not be parked or left unattended
on any street, highway, avenue,
alley or parking lot or area,
provided that this shall not pre-
vent a driver from the necessary
absence from the vehicle in con-
nection with the delivery of his
load. However, during actual dis-
charge of the liquid some respon-
sible person shall be present at
the vehicle. Tank vehicles shall
only be parked out of doors at
Bulk Petroleum Storage Plants of
fifteen (15) acres or more.
2. Garages: Tank vehicles shall not
be parked or garaged in any building
or structure other than those spe-
cifically approved for such use
by the Fire Marshall."

This amendment shall become effective in~ediately upon
its adoption by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia
