AN ORDINACE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 14-9
OF THE FAIRFAX CITY CODE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that Section 14-9 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
be, and hereby is, amended and reenacted to read in its entirety
as follows:
"Sec. 14-9. Drunk in Public.
"It shall be unlawful for any person to be found upon the
street or in any place open to public gathering within the City
while under the influence of alcohol or other self-administered
drug or intoxicant to such an extent that such person's manner,
disposition, speech, muscular movement,, general appearance or
behavior is so affected as to be apparent to observation. Any
person violating this section shall be taken into custody until
sober and shall be deemed guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
