AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 13-70(f)
OF THE FAIRFAX CITY CODE
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 13-70(f) of the Code of the City
of Fairfax be, and it hereby is, amended and reenacted to read
in its entirety as follows:
"Sec. 13-70(f). Same--Specific instances.
"Overtake or pass any other vehicle proceeding in the same
direction at any steam, diesel or electric railway grade crossing
or at any intersection of streets or highways unless such
vehicles are being operated on a highway having two or more
designated lanes of roadway for each direction of travel or unless
such intersection is designated and marked as a passing zone
pursuant to the provisions of Sec. 46.1-173 and 46.1-205 of the
1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, or on a designated one-way
street or highway, or while pedestrians are passing or about to
pass in front of either of such vehicles, unless permitted do so
by a traffic light or police officers."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
