AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, BY
ADDING THERETO SECTION 14-25, PERTAINING TO
THE POSSESSION OR CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES ON CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia be, and it hereby is, amended by adding thereto Section
14-25, to read in its entirety as follows:
Sec. 14-25 · Alcoholic beverages - Use, etc. on city propert
It shall be unlawful for any person to have in his possession
or to drink or consume any beer, wine, whisky, brandy or other
alcoholic beverages while in City Hall or any building used for
public school purposes within the city, or while on any property
of the city, including but not limited to any city park, playfield
or playground, or grounds and buildings used for recreation pur-
poses or athletic .contests, or the grounds immediately adjacent to
~nd surrounding City Hall, including the grounds across from City
[all on the north side of Armstrong Street. Violation of this
~ection shall constitute a class 4 misdemeanor.
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
