AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTION 14-25
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA,
PERTAINING TO THE POSSESSION OR CONSUMPTION OF
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON CERTAIN CITY PROPERTY
WHEREAS on April 19, 1977, the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, enacted Ordinance No. 1977-15, an Ordinance
amending Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia
by adding thereto Section 14-25, pertaining to the possession or
consumption of alcoholic beverages on certain City property; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the provisions of
Section 14-25 are unenforceable; and,
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in that it is in the best
interests of the City of Fairfax, Virginia to avoid erroneous
attempts to enforce the provisions of Section 14-25.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia that Section 14-25 of the Code of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia be, and it hereby is, repealed.
This emergency ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
