AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH WATER RATES
AND SEWER SERVICE RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL
AND COMMERCIAL CONSUMERS
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 26-2, Article I, Chapter 26
of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be, and it
hereby is, amended in its entirety to read as follows:
"Sec. 26-2. Water Service and Sewer Service -- Rates.
"The rates for water service furnished by the City
shall be as fOllows:
"(a) Residential consumers for properties within the
corporate limits: Eight dollars and twenty cents for the
first nine thousand gallons or less per quarter and eighty-
eight cents per thousand gallons for all water in excess of
nine thousand gallons.
"(b) Residential consumers for properties located
beyond the corporate limits: Twelve dollars and thirty cents
for the first nine thousand gallons or less per quarter and
eighty-eight cents per thousand gallons for all water in
excess of nine thousand gallons.
"(c) Commercial consumers for properties located
within the corporate limits: Five dollars and fifty cents
for the first five thousand gallons or less per month and eighty-
eight cents per thousand gallons for all water in excess of
five thousand gallons.
"(d) Commercial consumers for properties located
beyond the corporate limits: Eight dollars and twenty-five
cents for the first five thousand gallons or less per month
and eighty-eight cents per thousand gallons for all water in
excess of five thousand gallons.

"The rates for sewer service furnished by the City will
be eighty and five tenths percent of the computed water service
rate."
This ordinance shall become effective on February 1,
1976.
