AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14-19
OF THE FAIRFAX CITY CODE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia that Section 14-19 of the Code of the City of Fairfax be,
and hereby is, amended and reenacted to read in its entirety as
follows:
Sec. 14-19. Prostitution.
"It shall be unlawful for any person to operate, frequent or
visit, for immoral purposes, any house of ill fame, brothel, bawdy
place, or any place or location which is used for lewdness, assig-
nation or prostitution.
"In addition, any person who, for money or its equivalent,
commits adultery, fornication, or sodomy and thereafter does any
substantial act in furtherance thereof, shall be guilty of being
a prostitute, or prostitution, which shall be punishable as a
Class 1 misdemeanor.
"As used in this Section, "bawdy place' shall mean any place
within or without any building or ~tructure which is used or is to
be used for lewdness, assignation or prostitution."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
