19761207 1976-31ORDINANCE No. 1976- 31 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A DATE BY WHICH APPLICATIONS FOR RELIEF MUST BE FILED BEFORE THE BOARD OF EQUALIZA- TION OF REAL ESTATE ASSESSMENTS. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Article II of Chapter 7 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be, and the same hereby is, amended as follows: ~here shall be added a new section, numbered 7-6.1 to read in its entirety as follows: "Section 7-6.1 Appeal to Board. "(a) No appeal to the assessment of the Director of Real Estate Assessments shall be heard by the Board of Equalization of Real Estate Assessments unless an application to the Board for relief be made in writing to the Board within thirty days of the date set by the Director to hear objections to the assessments or June 15 of the year in which such assessment is made, whichever is later. "(b) Notice of the deadlines imposed by this ordinance shall be stated in all notices of assessment." This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
