19750610 1975-25ORD I NANCE NO. 1975-25 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REENACTING SECTION 3.07 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA RELATING TO TOWERS. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 3.07 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be and it hereby is amended and reenacted to read in its entirety as follows: "3.07 Church spires and similar integral towers not used for human habitation excluding signs, may extend above the height limitation herein fixed. Walls and similar pro- jections not used for human habitation, excluding signs, may extend above the height limitation not exceeding five feet. Non-commercial radio and television transmission and/or reception structures including antennae which are at- tached to a roof of a building may extend thirty (30) feet above the height limitation in the zoning district but the building and antenna structure together shall not exceed a total of sixty-five (65) feet. The maxi- mum height of freestanding non-commercial radio and television transmission and/or reception structures in- cluding antennae shall be sixty-five (65) feet provided that they shall observe the setback requirements of the zoning district. In all cases, such freestanding and roof towers shall conform to the Electronics Industry Association standards RS-222A, and erection of such towers shall require the approval of the Board of Architectural Review. The application shall be heard and acted upon by the Board of Architectural Review not less than ten (lO) days nor more than forty-five (45) days after the application has been filed." This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Fairfax, Virginia. Attest: Adopted: June 10, 1975.
