AN ORDINANCE k~ENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX,
VIRGINIA TO ADD TO CHAPTER TWO OF THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, A NEW ARTICLE X CREATING A NEW
DEPARTMENT TO BE KNOWN AS THE "COURT VIOLATIONS BUREAU."
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be and
it hereby is amended by adding to Chapter 2 of the Code of the
City of Fairfax, Virginia, a new Article X to read in its en-
tirety as follows:
"Article X. Court Violations Bureau
"Sec. 2-56. Created; name.
"There is hereby created a department of the City government
which shall be known as a "Court Violations Bureau" under and
pursuant to the provisions of Title 19.1, Sections 398, 399 and
400 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended.
"Sec. 2-57. Composition and app.ointment of special maqistrates.
"The Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of the 19th Judicial
Circuit shall appoint a chief special magistrate, and as many
special magistrates for the City of Fairfax as the City of Fairfax
requests and is willing to fund, to perform the duties and exercise
the powers set out in the aforesaid sections."
This ordinance shall become effective July 1, 1975.
