AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14-1
OF THE FAIRFAX CITY CODE
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia that Section 14-1 of the Code of the
City of Fairfax be, and hereby is, amended and reenacted
to read in its entirety as follows:
"Sec. 14-1. Abusive language.
"It shall be unlawful for any person in the city, in
the presence or hearing of another, to curse or abuse such
person, or use any violent, abusive language to such per-
son concerning himself or any of his relations, under
circumstances reasonably calculated to provoke a breach
of the peace."
"Any person violating the provisions of this section
shall be guilty of a class 3 misdemeanor."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
