AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 12-48 AND 12-51
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA,
RECLASSIFYING THE BUSINESS LICENSE TAX APPLICABLE
TO OPTICIANS FROM THE CATEGORY OF PROFESSIONAL
OCCUPATIONS TO THE CATEGORY OF RETAIL MERCHANTS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 12-48 of the Code of the City
of Fairfax be, and the same hereby is, amended by deleting the
phrase "an optometrist or optician" and substituting in its
place and stead the phrase "an optometrist".
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 12-51 of the Code of the
City of Fairfax be, and the same hereby is, amended by deleting
the phrase "optical" and substituting in its place and stead
the phrase "optician or optical".
This ordinance shall take effect January 1, 1976.
