AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ENACTING
SECTION 2-1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, REGARDING COMPENSA-
TION FOR MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Virginia, that Section 2-1 of the Code of the City of
Virginia be and it hereby is amended and re-enacted to
read in its entirety as follows:
"Sec. 2-1. Compensation of mayor and members of city council.
The following compensation for services shall be paid to
the mayor and members of the city council:
(a) The mayor shall be paid an annual salary of five thou-
sand dollars.
(b) Each member of the city council shall be paid a salary
of two hundred dollars per month."
This ordinance shall take effect at 12:01 a. m. on
July 1, 1974.
