AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-3 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX PERMITTING THE
COMMISSIONER OF THE REVENUE TO WAIVE THE
ASSESSMENT OF LATE FILING PENALTIES IN
CERTAIN CASES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Section 7-3 of
Article I, Chapter 7 of the Code of the City of Fairfax is amended
by adding the following paragraph between the first and second
paragraphs of the section as it existed prior to the enactment
hereof:
The Commissioner of Revenue may waive any of the late
filing penalties above described when, in his judgment, the facts
surrounding the late filing so warrant and the best interests of
the City will be served thereby.
