AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-18 OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX PERMITTING
THE COMMISSIONER OF REVENUE TO WAIVE THE
ASSESSMENT OF LATE FILING PENALTIES IN
CERTAIN CASES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council that Section 12-18,
Article I of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia
is amended as follows:
Add "file the application prescribed in Section 12-8
and" between the words "to" and "pay" in the third
line of the second paragraph of the section.
Add the following paragraph as a new fourth paragraph
at the end of the section as it existed prior to the
enactment hereof:
'The Commissioner of Revenue may waive any of the late
filing penalties above described when, in his judgment,
the facts surrounding the late filing so warrant and
the best interests of the City will be served thereby."
