PERMITS FOR OVERSIZED VEHICLES
ORDINANCE NO. 1972-7
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Chapter 13 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia be, and it hereby is, amended by the addition of a new
section, Sec. 13-191.1, reading in its entirety as follows:
"Sec. 13-]~1.1. Permit Fees.
The following fees shall be paid to the City of Fairfax
for issuance of permits authorized by Sec. 13-191:

Hauling or Moving Permits --

Mobile homes, prefabricated house sections .... $ 5.00
All other overlength, overweight, overheight
~vehicles
or overwidth/°~r any combination thereof ....... $ 5.00
Building movements (width in excess of
12 feet requiring an engineering study) ....... $15.00
Overlength or overweight requests which
require a special study'- In any case
where the City of Fairfax is requested
to make an individual study for the
granting of an overweight or an over-
length permit the entire cost of the
special study shall be borne by the
applicant regardless of whether the
permit is issued or not. A cost bond
shall be filed with the City of Fairfax
by the applicant prior to the study
beginning. This bond shall be equal
to the estimated cost of the study, plus
ten percent (10%) for administration.

1. Mobile homes - 12 feet in width (where

Renewal fee for each month thereafter ......... $ 5.00
Plus $1.00 for each trip made the previous
month.
Hauling or Moving Permits - Blanket (1 year)
1. Mobile homes, prefabricated house sections
and boats on trailers not more than 10'-4"
in width (where applicable) .................. $5.00
plus $1.00 for each trip made.
2. Other overwidth, overlength, overweight or
vehicles
overheight/or any combination thereof
(where applicable) ............................ $5.00
Plus $1.00 for each trip made.
Fees will Not be assessed for permits issued
to any office or agency of the United States
Government, the Commonwealth of Virginia,
or any County or Municipal Government of
Virginia provided the vehicle is registered
in the name of such government, its agency,
subdivision, or municipal corporation.
