AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-1
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX,
VIRGINIA REGARDING COMPENSATION OF
MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF CITY COUNCIL.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia that Sec. 2-1 of the Code of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia be, and it hereby is, amended and
reenacted to read in its entirety as follows:
"Sec. 2-1. Compensation of mayor and members of city council.
The following compensation for services shall
be paid to the mayor and members of the city council:
(a) The mayor shall be paid an annual salary of
five thousand dollars.
(b) Each member of the city council shall be
paid one hundred dollars per meeting attended, not~ to exceed
two hundred dollars per month."
THIS ORDINANCE shall take effect at 12:01 A.M. on
July 1, 1972.
