AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO ADD A DEFINITION FOR
E LEEMOS YNARY I NST ITUT I ON.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, be and it hereby is amended by adding the following definition
in alphabetical order:
ELEEMOSYNARY INSTITUTION: An establishment by a private
non-profit organization which is not operated for the
purpose of carryin9 on a trade or business, no part of the
net earnin9s of which inures to the benefit of any member
of such organization, and which is operated exclusively
for charitable or benevolent purposes.
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
