AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-21 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, BY ADDING A
SUBSECTION J DEFINING CIGARETTE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax, Virginia, that Section 7-21 of the Code of the City
of Fairfax, Virginia, be, and it hereby is amended by adding
a new subsection j to read in its entirety as follows:
'j. "Cigarette" shall mean and include any roll of any
size or shape for smoking, whether filtered or unfiltered,
with or without a mouthpiece, made wholly or partly of cut,
shredded or crimped tobacco or other plant or substitute for
tobacco, whether the same is flavored, adulterated or mixed
with another ingredient, if the wrapper or cover of the roll
is made of any material other than leaf tobacco or homogenized
leaf tobacco, regardless of whether the roll is labeled or
sold as a cigarette or by any other name.'
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its passage.
