AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF FA IRFAX BY ADDING DEFINITIONS OF '%UTO-
MOBILE LAUNDRY" AND '%UTOMOBILE SERVICE STATION."
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, that Section 2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, be amended by the addition of the following definitions:
'~UTOMOBILE LAUNDRY: Any area of land including
structures thereon that is used or designed to be
used for the washing, cleaning, and/or waxing of
automobiles or other vehicles which may utilize
a chain or other conveyor and blower or steam clean-
ing device, and provided further that such washing
or cleaning is performed within a completely enclosed
structure; and there shall be no maintenance or re-
pairs of any vehicles.
'~UTOMOBILE SERVICE STATION: An area of land includ-
ing any structure thereon used for the retail sale of
motor fuel and lubricants and incidental services such
as lubrication, hand washing of automobiles, and the
sale, installation or minor repair of tires, batteries,
or other automobile accessories. The term automobile
service station shall not include an automobile laundry
or a repair garage."
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
