AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10-2 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, TO PROVIDE FOR
THE REMOVAL OF WEEDS, GRASS OR OTHER FOREIGN
GROWTHS ON VACANT LOTS WITHIN THE CITY OF FAIRFAX,
VIRGINIA.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Fairfax, Vir-
ginia, that Section 10-2 of the Code of the City of Fairfax,
Virginia, be amended by the addition of subsection (d) which
reads as follows:
"(d) The Director of Public Works shall order agents
or employees of the city to correct any violations of this
section which remain ten days after notice to the property
owner has been given. The costs and expenses of correcting
the violation shall be chargeable to and paid by the owner of
such property and may be collected by the City as taxes and
levies are collected. Any charge which remains unpaid shall
constitute a lien against such property."
This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon
its passage.
