19660104 1966-1An ordinance to provi.~e for the amendment and reenactment of the ~%~ Ordinance adopted December 2, 1964, in order to place ger~ainpropert$es owned.bY the county of Fairfax, virginia, within said County and to strike the same from__ the City. WHEREAS, the County of Fairfax, Virginia~ owns cer- tain parcels of land within the corporate limits of the City of Fairfax, Virginia; and WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax, Virginia, derives no tax revenues from these parcels but must provide services thereto; and WHEREAS, it would be in the best interests of both the City of Fairfax, Virginia, and the County of Fairfax, Virginia, for the County of Fairfax to have complete jurisdiction over said parcels of land, THEREFORE, be it ordained: 1. (a) That the following parcels of land be stricken off from the City of Fairfax, Virginia, and be made a part of Fairfax County, Virginia, in accordance with the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, &15.1-1059 et seq: Parcel (a) (B) (C) (D) (E) Descr i.Dtion Courthouse lot as described in Liber D No. 2, page 373. Old Methodist Church property as de- , 3ou. scribed in Deed Book 1591 page ~ Parking Lot as described in Liber D No. 9, page 99. The Police Department and School Admin- istration lot as described in Deed Book 1631, page 196. Carr property as described in Deed Book 2684, page 31. -2- which plat is incorporated herein by reference, bears the signature of the Mayor of the City of Fairfax, and is on file with the City Clerk. 2. That this ordinance be published for two successive weeks in the Fairfax City Times. 3. That this ordinance be posted in at least ten public places within the territory to be stricken off. 4. That a copy hereof be served on each member of the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County.
