19680305 1968-5ORDINANCE NO. 1968-5 AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR AN ADVISORY REFERENDUM AT A SPECIAL ELECTION OF THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF FAIRFAX The City Council of the city of Fairfax, Virginia, hereby ordains: 1. That it is in the public interest of the city of Fairfax for the city Council to solicit the advice of the qualified voters of the City of Fairfax by an advisory referendum to be held pursuant to Section 3.8 of the City Charter of the City of Fairfax on the question relating to public education hereinafter set forth. 2. Following the second reading and final adoption of this ordinance the City Clerk shall forthwith certify a copy hereof to the Circuit Court of Fairfax County, Virginia, or to the judge thereof, in vacation, and it is hereby requested that the Circuit Court order a special election of the qualified voters of the City upon the question hereinafter set forth: 3. The question to be propounded to the qualified voters of the City shall be: Do you favor the conversion of the Sidney Lanier Inter- mediate School for use as the Fairfax High School and the conver- sion of the present Fairfax High School for use as the Fairfax Intermediate School as permitted by the 1965 Fairfax city - Fairfax County Agreement?
