An Ordinance declaring the necessity for the abandonment of a secon-
dary road in Loudoun County created by the municipal water supply
expansion program.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council for the City of Fai~-
fax that:
W-I-IEREAS, the City of Fairfax owns and operates a munici-
pal water supply system in Loudoun County, Virginia; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to enlarge this water supply sys-
tem to provide an adequate and safe supply for the inhabitants of the City
of Fairfax and Loudoun County; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this enlargement of the
water supply system it is necessary to impound water by means of a
dam, which will result in the flooding of a section of a secondary road
located in said Loudoun County, namely State Route 625.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Fairfax
hereby declares that it is the intention of the City of Fairfax to comply
with the requirements of Chapter 1, Article 7, Title 33 of the Code of
Virginia (1950) as amended~ as per the plat attached hereto.
A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be delivered by the
City Clerk to the Clei~k of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors im-
mediately following its adoption by the City Council.
