AN ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 13-225.1 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY
OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, CONCERNING PRESUMPTION OF OWNERSHIP OF
ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax
that the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, be amended by adding
a section numbered 13-225.1 as follows:
"Sec. 13-225.1.
Presumption as to owner of illegally parked
vehicle.
In any prosecution charging a violation of any ordinance
of the city governing the standing or parking of a vehicle,
proof that the particular vehicle involved in such stated
offense was parked in violation of such ordinance, together
with proof that the defendant named in the summons or war-
rant was, at the time of such standing or parking, the
registered owner of such vehicle, shall constitute, in
evidence, a prima facie presumption that such registered
owner of such vehicle was the person who parked or placed
such vehicle at the point where and for the time during
which, such violation occurred.~
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
