A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF
APPROXIMATELY 14,230 SQUARE FEET OF PROPERTY HAVING
ADDRESSES OF 10251 MAIN STREET AND 10318 AND 10324 SAGER
AVENUE, TAX MAP NUMBERS 57-4-((2))-139, -141, & -142, OWNED BY
SARAH GARLAND MATHY CANTONE AND JOSEPH CANTONE,
HUSBAND AND WIFE, AS TO A 50% INTEREST, AND JOSEPH J. MATHY,
JR. AND LAURA ANN AUGUST MATHY, HUSBAND AND WIFE, AS TO A
50% INTEREST, FOR A FIFTY-FOOT-WIDE TRAIL EASEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City has determined that there is a public need for a fifty-foot-wide
trail easement on a portion of the property having addresses of 10251 Main Street and 10318
and 10324 Sager Avenue, which property is owned by Sarah Garland Mathy Cantone and
Joseph Cantone, Husband and Wife, as to a 50% interest, and Joseph J. Mathy, Jr. and Laura
Ann August Mathy, Husband and Wife, as to a 50% interest; and
WHEREAS, the owners have agreed to sell the trail easement to the City for the sum
of Sixty Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($60,000.00).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Fairfax that the acquisition of a fifty-foot-wide trail easement consisting of approximately
t4,230 square feet of that certain property having addresses of 10251 Main Street and 10318
and 10324 Sager Avenue, which property is owned by Sarah Garland Mathy Cantone and
Joseph Cantone, Husband and Wife, as to a 50% interest, and Joseph J. Mathy, Jr. and Laura
Ann August Mathy, Husband and Wife, as to a 50% interest, for the sum of Sixty Thousand
and No/100 Dollars ($60,000.00), is hereby authorized.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is authorized to execute all
documents necessary to effectuate the acquisition of the trail easement on behalf of the City.
