A RESOLUTION PROHIBITING POLITICAL ADVERTISING ON OR IN THE
CUE BUSES OPERATED BY THE CITY OF FAIRFAX.
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfax allows advertising on its CUE buses for certain
purposes; and
WHEREAS, it is the position of the City Council that advertising for political
purposes is inappropriate on City CUE buses; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has opined that the City may prohibit political
advertising on CUE buses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1. No political advertising is to be allowed in or on City CUE buses to include
advertising for individuals seeking office or for other political issues or referenda.
2. The City Manager is directed to ensure this policy is enforced with regard to CUE bus
advertising.
Adopted this 12th day of March, 2002.
