A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS FOR
APPROXIMATELY THREE ACRES OF PROPERTY HAVING AN ADDRESS OF
1O735 WEST DRIVE, TAX MAP NUMBERS 57-3-((2))-12A AND 57-3-((2))-12B,
OWNED BY THE ESTATES OF CHARLES E. JESTER AND SIGRID CHRISTEL
JESTER, AND/OR THEIR LAWFUL HEIRS, FOR PUBLIC PARK PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City has determined that there is a public need for a public park on
approximately three (3) acres of property, having an address of 10735 West Drive, on
property owned by the Estates of Charles E. Jester and Sigrid Christel Jester, and/or their
lawful heirs; and
WHEREAS, in order to proceed with the acquisition of the property for public park
purposes, the initiation of condemnation proceedings is necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax
that condemnation of a certain property having an address of 10735 West Drive, which
property is owned by the Estates of Charles E. Jester and Sigfid Christel Jester, and/or their
lawful heirs, is necessary for the purpose of public park land, and staff is hereby authorized to
initiate condemnation proceedings, including possession prior to the conclusion of the
condemnation proceedings, if necessary, in accordance with the law.
