A RESOLUTION TO INITIATE CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS FOR
APPROXIMATELY 23.2327 ACRES OF PROPERTY HAVING AN ADDRESS OF
A PORTION OF 10090 TO 10120 LEE HIGHWAY, TAX MAP NUMBER 47-4-
((2))-4-(PART), OWNED BY ROBERT E. STAFFORD & ASSOCIATES, LP, FOR
OPEN SPACE AND PUBLIC PARK PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City has determined that there is a public need for open space and a
public park on approximately 23.2327 acres of property, having an address of a portion of
10090 to 10120 Lee Highway, on property owned by Robert E. Stafford & Associates, LP;
and
WHEREAS, in order to proceed with the acquisition of the property for open space
and public park purposes, the initiation of condemnation proceedings is necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairfax
that condemnation of a certain property having an address ora portion of 10090 to 10120 Lee
Highway, which property is owned by Robert E. Stafford & Associates, LP, is necessary for
the purpose of open space and public park land, and staff is hereby authorized to initiate
condemnation proceedings, including possession prior to the conclusion of the condemnation
proceedings, if necessary, in accordance with the law.
